I'm trying to decide on a color combination for my 1970 Chevelle convertible. It was originally green with a black top and saddle interior. It's just a Malibu and I'm not going for originality. I want to build it to satisfy my personal taste. I have narrowed the color combination down to three choices, but I am having a hard time finding pics to help me out. I like:
red with white stripes, white top, and white interior
red with white stripes, white top, and red interior
silver with black stripes, black top, and red interior

I'm having a hard time finding pics of the silver combo. I have told a few friends about this combination and few seem to like it so far. Can any of you give your opinion? I have only seen this combination once, and that was on a hardtop car. Can anyone provide a few pics? Hardtop or convertible with this color will be OK.

I believe it was on Dale Mcintosh's website www.chevellestuff.com where I saw a gallery of cars with every SS color.

I vote for Cortez Silver with black stripes!!!!

Not in your list but I vote for green with a black top and either green or black interior. There's lot's of beautiful red and silver 70's out there, way too many for me though. Sorry, just my opinion but half the 70's around are red and almost all the rest are either black or silver.

Cortez Silver is excellent color with black stripes, very unique color and you dont see it very often thats for sure. I had very many complements on it and won alot of car shows with it.

My vote is for the original scheme.

I love the cortez silver, but not crazy about the red interior. Black..

I'd go something different like Silver or Black with Red interior.

That Red interior Really stands out in a crowd of Red with Black interior 70 Chevelles you see everywhere.

Although overdone, fathom blue with White Top, Stripes and interior is one of my all time favorites.

I will agree with you guys that red and black is way too overdone. I do have a 70 Malibu that was original red with white interior. My plans were to do red/white combo on that car and something different with the convertible, but then I thought it would be cool to have a matching pair. Thanks for all the pictures!

The best looking 70 I have ever seen was on Ebay....cortez silver with red interior. Just stunning!!!

Nice looking Malibu!! I like that it is not an SS/clone & you kept the fender/door trim. I have a pic somewhere of mine in the late 80's with a boat just like that in tow (Sidewinder??):thumbsup:
