After finding out the previous 454 I had done shot all the bearing within an hours worth of run time I decided to build the new motor right.

454 + .060
scat crank and rods
srp flat tops
doug herbert 285 deg. .642 lift intake & exhaust
188 heads with 2.19 1.88, fully ported and polished by CNC machine, topped with harland sharp roller rocker stock ratio
Victor junior with 750 cfm double pumper( just had it laying around )

It's powered by MSD 6AL and has headers through 3 inch exhaust dumped at the rear. Also it will have about 10 to 1 comp.

I haven't taken it for the initial drive yet and I was curious as to what you guys think about the combo and what kind of power to expect. If anyone has time if they'd DEsktop Dyno it for me i'd appreciate it a lot.

Thanks guys, i've been a member for a long while now reading advice from many of you and it's all been a big help in piecing together my car.

Betcha it sounds mighty healthy, especially with that big cam! What rear gear ratio and trans? Hope you have some beefy suspension to handly the power! Have fun crusin or racing!

I have a 12 bolt that is going into the car and the tranny is a saginaw until I can afford something a little better. College started back so i'm a little strapped right now. I'll probably go to a coil over suspension but it's just gonna be a street/strip car so we'll see.

Good luck! Sounds like a fun car. graemlins/beers.gif

You can download Desktop Dyno 2000 from KazaaLite. I just did last week. I will try to run your #'s.

Looks like about 580hp at 6000rpm and 580 ft-lbs at 4500rpm. Anyone else try??
