I am going to look at this car this evening. I had the owner give me the trim tag and vin over the phone. He says it is a 65 chevelle SS 283 car.I would appreciate any help on these options and also what to look for on the car. I am familiar with Camaros and Novas but not chevelles. Info is as follows:

06C B
65 11837NOR7945
Trim 732 D-C
E 2KMPS 3C
SWL

Vin# 118375N200XXX

Car is missing original engine but every thing else is there, supposedly.

Seems strange to me, but Dale might be able to help.

There seems to be a whole lot wrong with both the cowl tag and the VIN. The model number does not match any '65 Chevelle model number, the interior code does not match any '65 Chevelle interior code and the plant indicator "NOR" doesn't match any plants known to have made Chevelles in '65.

Are you sure you are going to look at a Chevelle and not another GM A-body such as a Tempest, Skylark or F-85?

118375N200XXX is a 1965 Nova V8 SS VIN from Norwood, OH., not a Chevelle. If this VIN plate is on a 65 Chevelle - RUN - someone has illegally attached it to the Chevelle.

The person selling it said it was a chevelle. I have not seen it as of yet. I bet she doesn't know what it is.Thanks......

Could be good news though, a 65 SS V8 Nova might be kinda neat!

And pretty rare. The hard part on those is getting a correct Chevy II block and oil pan.

Kinda why I'm thinking if it has the correct engine in it, it might be a deal - price depending of course.
