Lastnight i pulled a 454 out of one of my bosses work trucks, its been sitting for years, someone stole the carb off of it and water got into the heads and bores. Heads are 781's thinkin im gonna use them on my 402 ive just built, just have them cleaned up. Ill probably put my 292's on the 454 just to sell it. My boss and I arent sure what to ask for it to sell. Im gettin some of the profits since I pulled it. It needs rebuilt, just dont know what a 454 core is worth. Any help?

I just paid $500 for mine. It's a rebuilder too. That seems to be a pretty common price in Oregon, from what I've gathered.

$500 seems about right for a rebuildable 454 here in the midwest.

Mine was $300 back in '95. It had a bad crank, but good -781's!

That's why I mouth so much about my 496 b/c you can do one of them for not much more then a 460/468 motor if you have to start with a bad crank motor!!

$300-400 is about right around here for a core..about $1000 if its a stocker thats complete and runs good.Thats what I sell them for anyway :D
