65 Chevy II / 2650lbs. / 427 +.060 / Powerglide w/5500 Coan conv. We're gonna do a little No Electronics racing next year and have some fun . The car runs 10:50s now leaving @ 4500 with trans brake . I've never left the gate w/o using the t-brake . Tried it out yesterday and had a little stumble in it leaving from an idle on up to 3000 . I have a Holley 1050 / 88's square / no Power valve / 35 squirters . A buddy suggested a demon carb. but this is a challenge
Any helpful hints will be appreciated.

Since you were leaving at 4500 before, you might need to bring the accellerator pump in a bit sooner leaving at the lower rpm. Anyway, I'd try working with it before changing carbs.

squirters are a good starting point but cam timing(pump cams),diaphram condition and possibly jetting.Fatten up the nozzles and try it to see if your going in the right direction. Is this a three ciruit or two.Its my understanding the three circuit carbs are designed for light cars like dragsters as they have a circuit designed to fatten up the mid range if nessessary
