My factory temp gauge in dash next to oil pressure gauge won't register at all.I sent the gauge to tachman, told him it did'nt work and he just filled the fluid in it said it would work but it does'nt. I put 3 different sending units in, thinking this was the problem, new Delco sending unit fine. Is there a company that fixes these? Is there a FACTORY replacement? I just need the temp gauge. Anybody have a good used factory temp gauge for my factory 66 CHEVELLE cluster?

Sorry Ron. I thought I had a temp gauge. But all I have is a clock and a gas gauge out of a Malibu.

to ron:
the gauge your are talking about was refilled with dampning fluid. the temp gauge was tested and calibrated on a 10,000 dollar calibrator purchased in 1979 when i started my business. there is a problem in the wiring. i have owned over 30 1966-70 chevelles in my lifetime and i know them as well as anyone in the country. Ron Kempf has not called me to discuss this problem or even mentioned that i also repaired his knee knocker tach. i have repaired over 5,000 gauges with this technique since discovering they are filled with fluid. The problem is this: Ron never bothered to inform me and as usual, put it on the modern day internet forum where you can bad mouth others instead of just calling a toll free number 1-800-327-8716 and saying, Gary, my gauges still does not work. Wow, and i would have said, Ron send it back and i will have a look and make it right. I can rewind them at a higher price, but there was nothing wrong with the windings, just the dampning. Gee! how much better customer service can I give. How many 1971 Ls-6's were built in 1971, 454-425 hp? This forum says none, but i know of several.
tks

My apologies to tachman. In no way shape or form did I want to say something bad about tachman. I have more class than that. Maybe on my part it was a bad choice of words. Tachman did fix my original tach better than new. He was very professional. He did what he said he was going to do,for the price he quoted me, in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend his services. I was simply trouble shooting hoping someone had a quick simple overlooked solution for me. Again Gary I do apologize
