hi, i'm a complete newbie when it comes to muscle cars... i would like to buy a chevelle SS but i have a few questions

Im lookin at either a 1969 396 or a 1970 396 (i'd like the 454 LS6, but not enough cash haha)

So, im wondering just how much power can you squeeze out of these engines with after market performance parts

thanks!

You're already there, just do a search for intakes, cams etc... and read until you go blind. What you read here will tend to be more real world reporting than what you get from the manufacturers.

Once this is defined you will be able to save all kind of $$$ by getting the right parts the first time.

I don't know how much exactly but melted tires will be an issue.
