Hey guys,

I'm looking for the difference in weight between the standard Weld Superlite wheels and the three piece Alumastars, specifically the 15x3.5 and 15x10 sizes. I've already checked the website and couldn't find any info.

My car needs an additional set of wheels/tires for racing so I was considering the Alumastars as I know they are lighter and I like how they look.

Any info is appreciated!!

you may want to post in the section for rims and tires. just an idea. I really couldn't tell you anything about the weight of either.

If the vehicle will see any street use, Weld does not recommend using the Alumastars...too light and prone to bend or easily get damaged on high cornering loads or pot holes.

Weight wise, I'm sure the Alumastars are lighter, but not enough to provide any measurable difference on the average racers time slip.

71chevy0192,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I'll try posting on one of the NSCA boards, someone should have an idea there.

10SecBu,

These wheels and tires will see no street use, just the track. I just wasn't too thrilled about buying another set of the same wheels and I like the look of the Alumistars. I'm sure the weight differce is minimal and the $$ can be spent better somewhere else, but I'd at least like to know before I make the decision.

Thanks again as always for your help!

holeshot wheels are awesome look better then the alumastars try them out they are very true wheel and the look great. welds are inconsistent from the factory. sean
