the number on the housing is 3917123nf and gears are 3:55 posi unit would that fit into the 10bolt i have in the 64 chevelle, the person thinks it came out of a 72 chevelle

so anyone i would think it would not matter what year the 10bolt is all the gears should fit right

Well, are you asking a question in either of your posts? You realize that you're in the "What's it Worth" section, right? Are you looking to buy or sell this rear end?

A quick Google search came up with this page: http://www.chevellestuff.com/generic/generic_rear_axle_info.htm, showing it to be 68 10 bolt housing. Assuming that the other rear end is a 64, that would make them both 8.2's, so yes the gears/posi should fit. There are 8.2 and 8.5 10 bolts which would cause a problem, but I don't think that's an issue here.
