I have a 70 Chevelle frame off restoration in process. I have a 502 with a 4L80E behind it. I have a floor console shifter. The stock shift cable will not work. I have been unable to find what others are doing with this set up. I can't be the first to use this combo!?? If I connect the stock shift cable it interferes with the electrical connectors that connect to the tranny. I can make it work but it is NOT smooth and easy to operate. I'm wondering if an aftermarket cable that is longer would work? The cable needs to make an "S" curve to work.

Mine is a floorshift B&M Megashifter. It has not caused me any problems. My only issue was the "L" shaped bracket didn't work off my 700r4 so I had to modify it.
Thinking back on it, my shifter has the longer cable than stock so I managed to rout it so it is nice and smooth.
