I have a couple of friends and we are all doing 69 Chevelles and are at various points. I figured you'd enjoy seeing what they were up to so I took some pictures and will try and keep things posted on their behalf.

I think from the pictures you can all figure out the specs ... if you have any questions let me know I've participated in the build and know what's been used and what's next.

I LOVE that G-force cross member!! right clicked and saved as. :)

Who makes that rear end? It looks very strong.

I like the trans linkage, pretty solid looking. Why do you need the fill hose?

Isnt that braided line going to interfere with the exhaust on suspension movement? (i realize that isnt the location they will be in but still, will they be high enough?)

Thanks for posting the pictures. I really like the looks of the work being done.First class work, fellows! The G-Force crossmember should really help with the exhaust routing.
Keep us up to date on the progress.

Awesome looking chassis. It is almost a shame to cover it up.

Where did you get the trans cross member?

Where did you get the trans cross member? It's a G-Force Cross Member, I'm not sure exactly which supplier they used ... you can do a search (ex. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/gforce_double_hump_crossmembers_.htm)

Looks good. I'm also curious about the rear vent. Planning on off-roading this thing?

The rear vent

The Moser came with a breather hole already drilled. I'm not 100% sure ... but since Moser's axels aren't "c" clip'd they form a tight seal at the axel ends .. unlike a traditional 12 bolt which aren't air-tight at the ends and there's that pseudo breather/overflow. Moser puts in the breather hole to solve an issue that I guess would exist if it was "air-tight" I think this was a first attempt and may not be a final placement. As some have said it may interfere with the exhaust. The transmission was made by Tex-Racing in NC (they support a lot of the cars in the Hooter's series). It also has a breather line not normally found on a munci.

Perhaps you could use a 90 degree fitting and run it along the axle and then up.?

Could probably bend up a nice hard line as well.

I think it would be great if you posted the cost on the frame project so that others might get an idea of what something like that costs to do. Beautiful work !!

OK .. I'll do my best .. keep in mind its a friends build so I don't really know - everything is new though. I just help/advise. Here are rough estimates.
Powder coat a frame 500-600 powder coat (+ 200 if blasted, +350 if dipped - volume helps so take little stuff like spindles, gross-members, motor mounts etc.). Wilwood Brake Kits expect 2500K, A-arm kit expect 800-1000 for a good set, Rear Up/Lw control arms 300-400 for a good set. 100 for the frame braces. Rear Shocks 150-300 for stainless, Front coil-overs 150-300 (note you won't have front spring cost with coil/over). Rear springs 100-150. On the shocks not sure if he has single or double adjustible. Stainless breake lines expect 300. Moser 2500 (axel upgrade, locker - powder coated, cover). Front/Rear Sway bars expect 300+ for a good set. Quick Ratio steering box 400+ for a good one. 2000-3000 for a custom 4-speed or Tremec 5. G-Force cross-member 260. New stock steering components 200. I think that covers the frame. 11K or so. From there you'll add exhaust, drive-line, probably booster/master cyl, rims and tires, engine, headers, bell-housing, body bounts, nuts/bolts) ... That get's you to a rolling chassis/ ready to drop the body back on.

I'm running the G force member too and still had to crunch my 3" exhaust thru it.

Well - After having the headers reworked to have the right geometry the 3 inch exhaust was put on - a mix of Flowmaster and Magnaflow welded tight. The Rims and tires are on and finally a frontal shot of the pully system.
