Ok, my plan was to order a roll of 1/2" SS tubing from Inline Tube along with the bender and 45* double flare tool, but they don't have 1/2" SS tubing nuts. So I'm going, hmmmmmmm. I checked Summit and Jegs and nobody has 1/2" SS tubing nuts. Are there such things as 1/2" SS tubing nuts or should I not be using a 45* double flare on 1/2" SS? How should I connect the SS tubing to the filter and pump and other items?

Try to find some Swagelok fittings. Industrial hose places might have them. They'll outlast the car.

for my 1/2" SS line, at the back the rubber line 4" or so was pushed over the SS line and clamped.
At the front of the car you can buy a 8AN plain line to AN adapter, then use AN stuff all the way to the carb.
If you're using electric, I don't know-- lot more flares.. and SS line is HARD to flare... I had to do it for my brake prop valve.

I'll second the swagelock type (compression) fittings. The tube will split before they fail. There are configurations available for just about anything imaginable including bulkhead fittings and 4 ways, plus adapters for pipe & AN fittings.

i am an aircraft structural fabricator in the USAF. i make all kinds of hydraulic lines and fuel lines etc. we use aluminum and stainless tubing for most of what i make. there surely are b-nuts for 1/2" tubing. All the AN stuff i see for autos looks like the same stuff we use on planes, so i assume that it is out there somewhere. and yeah you are gonna have a hard time flaring stainless with a hand flaring kit. but it can be done. if it slips in the jaws of the flaring kit try wrapping the tube with a small piece of sanpaper. it will keep it from slipping in the jaws.

Here's the real deal for all of you - we sell tubing along with all of our pipe and fittings. Contact a local instrumentation supplier - you can also lookup "Swagelok , Parker Hannifan or Hoke " on an internet search these are all industrial compression fitting manufacturers to get the local supplier. Most will stock SS instrumentation tubing. When you get your tubing, tell them you want fully annealed tubing, prefereably in a coil which is even softer. You should have no problem working with this tubing. We use it all the time in our valve actuation shop. Use a tubing bender to make clean bends and it should work great.
