Folks, I'm looking for a little inside information about a car that I'm preparing to buy. It's a black 79 camaro (yeah I know :rolleyes: ) owned by Shannon McDougald, previous owner was (I belive) Lamar Swindoll. It's a 10.5 mini tubbed car and apparently it's pretty well known among the Houston area street racing crowd. It has "Back in Black" painted down the 6" cowl hood with an air brushed skeleton painted on top. Shannon and Lamar both were great to talk to and seemed to be up front and honest about the car and its condition, but I don't know them personally. Maybe someone knows these guys and the car and can give me their opinions?

I've seen the car run many times as Lamar's "Gold Dust" and as the more recent "Back in Black". It pulls the wheels nicely and goes as straight as an arrow. I know when it was gold I saw it run high 8's. Painted Black I've never seen the times but it was suppose to be faster.

The car is sweet. It ran at Houston Raceway Park quite often. Definitely check out hotrodgossip.com.. That car has quite a legacy graemlins/beers.gif around here!
