What type of CAD? Autodawg or Microstation? My guess would be Autodawg as your looking for Architects. Most Land Development is done with that platform.

I work here in Toledo, OH as an architectural designer/construction engineer/field services rep/jack of all trades/master of none. I just sent your request on to a Civil Engineer friend of mine who is looking for work. He will be responding to your ad soon.

Good luck with the search. Let me know if you'd like to offer me more money than I make now...(wink wink)

I use Co-Create One Space Designer, but it would be really hard to pry me out of the Pacific North West :D

I know its a bit of a longshot thats why I won't bother you with a call but any chance you would be interested in a summer intern? I am completing my junior year as an MET major I have experience with autocad and solidworks as well the basics of drafting techniques. Let me know if I can help.

Edit: I should also mention I have worked in the construction business as a carpenter for the past 6 summers.

Yup thats it. Basicly it is more manufacturing and field based rather than design (although we do have a good background in design) like a regular mechanical engineer.

Thanks Scott. It is unfortunate that other companies are suffering. I hope our area takes a turn around soon.

""Me too I will even empty the trash cans at the end of the day"" ...and fix the sump pump when it breaks and....whatever. The bottom line (excuse the pun) in my opinion...what ever you dont spend stays in your pocket for the toys!!!

Me! I'm tired of running my own practice. 33 years experience. Time to get bought out and retire and buy more Chevelles.

When I left Colorado I seriously, thought about Boise instead of coming back to Az. Wish I would have looked into it a little more.

Basicly it is more manufacturing and field based rather than design
We have a pretty good intern program here and do take out of staters. But We're more geared to Civils. We do have a construction management services, I can ask if they have a need for a MET, unless you specifically want to stay with MET related work.

Even though I'm a civil I I did a summer at Honneywell doing electrical engineering aide stuff. Turned into a permenant offer. Only reason why I said no was because I knew I had to keep school my number focus and work #2.

I never learned CAD, I left the engineering world in 1990. I can still draft free hand though...
