I have a 65 chevelle with a 327 and when I mounted the bell housing and clutch fork assemble to the engine they did not line up with the pressure plate and the end of the crank shaft.
The bell housing that I am using is from a 70's 350 which was in the car when purchased. When I tried to match this with a 65 block for a 327 I had an alignment problem with the throw out bearing mount on the clutch fork.
Is there a difference between the bell housing used in 65 vice the ones used on a 70's 350?
If so how can I tell if I have the correct bell housing? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Jeff
