Alright guys, how is everyone doing? I am not sure if I posted this in the right area but hopefully I can get some help. In the shop that I am working at, we got a 65 chevelle in that was totaled. So we purchased another chevelle so we could make 1 out of two. Needless to say, we could only find a 64. and we thought that the only differance was some bolt on items. But upon further review, we found out that the tail lights are different. But on our 64, both tail light areas are gone due to rust and the filler panel between them is also gone. So since we have to replace them anyway, we need those off of a 65. So if anyone within 500 miles of Western North Carolina has tail section off of a 65 I am interested in it. What we need are both tail light areas and the filler panel between them. Please let me know what you have by Friday. Sorry for the short notice. I will also need it to be cut out and shipped to us. Thanks for all the help guys

Your best bet is to post this in the wanted section in the classifieds.

You MAY have to go reproduction from a local restoration dealer....if they make those parts. There are some junk yards specializing in old iron. But they aren't local and shipping will hurt.

I take it you haven't done too many restorations before?

Do you need just the moldings and the light assemblies or the sheet metal also?

Good luck finding them. They are NOT re-poping the tail section (my guess is no demand). I have a 64 that I am restoring and I actually have the tail section of a 65 that we are using some parts from the 64 and the 65 to make a tail panel. There is LOTS of fabrication involved as these parts are scarce. Try http://www.dvap.com

do you have the small tail lights or the larger ones? i think i have a set of the large ones but i will check tomaro don't know what shape there in.put can post or send a pic or e-mail to you.

try sundell in shelby north carolina. they arent cheap, but they definitely have it. last time i was there they had about 25 65s in the yard and a warehouse full of parts. good luck

they would probably take that 64 off your hands too.

i have the exact same problem with my 64 chevy II. tail section is not being repoped. and no one has one.
