I just installed an Ignitor in my 68 with the 72 402 in it, but for some reason it has to crank about 4 seconds before it fires. If you turn the key on and let it sit for 4 seconds, then crank it, it fires right up. I have checked for good grounds and I used a 30A continuous duty relay to power the ignition. The battery is fully charged. I have a 1.2 ohm ballast resistor wired in with my Blaster 2 coil. Anybody have any ideas?

That is correct if you got the 1181LSC model. It requires 2-4 seconds to "charge up" after turning on the ign, before turning to start.
The original unit, 1181, does not require any charge time, but requires removing the dist to install. Personally, I like the old 1181, but the 1181LSC is MUCH easier and faster to install. By the way, ALL the point type dist in my family (5) have a PerTronix conversion.

Hah! Well that makes me feel better. I'm glad it is supposed to be that way. I was starting to think I had gone brain-dead!
