how do you remove the ignition switch key lock from the steering colum?
mine is very sticky and I want to replace it with a new one.

Do a search. There is a posting on here somewhere that has photos. If it has never been done on your column before there is a small piece of aluminum that covers the release "button" on the cylinder that needs to be broken through to access the release.

Turn it back to the accessory position and stick a small wire in the hole. You'll feel a spring releasing the face when you push it in with the wire.

That is for cars with the ignition in the dash, not for cars with the ignition lock in the steering column.
