I bought a AIRAID 14x3 washable and reusable air cleaner.
The instructions say that after washing it's necessary to oil the element.
With what homemade oil I can replace it?
I must only buy the one that sells the manufacturer?
I can use WD40 or similar?

Thanks

The oil that comes with the filter should last you for a long time. The object is to wash the filter, and then apply a thin coating of the oil onto the element. You do not have to soak it in oil.

I thought I read somewhere the K&N oil was more or less tranny fluid, . Anyone else read that?

I wouldn't use WD40. I think you'd have problems. It is wonderful stuff but it's not for everything.

ATF works fine in K&N type filters, there oil is even red too, imagine that !!
