I just sent in my registration....I know it's early yet, but I get the bug right after the first of the year, even though I wont be getting the car out for another couple months at least. So who's going this year?? I missed a few of you last year, seems when you were at one end of the city, I was at the other. Hope to meet you this year for sure, and hang out a little bit too. I will definitely have the car with me this year. Staying at the Dunes again. Anyone?? Dan??

There will be 4 of us staying at the Holiday Inn at 67, Dan, Sean (pickss), Myself and my cousine Judy. Maybe we can schedule a Team Chevelle Night. The Maryland Chevelle Club usually has a get together on friday night at a hotel. GoDragRacing.com meets on friday night also, at the Gold Coast Mall up at 105th.

I waited too long to get a motel this year, several that I called were all booked up. But I got one at the beginning of the boardwalk. There are tons of hotels and motels there, should be no problem for lodging as long as you dont want to be right on the water.

IMHO best cruise I've been too. I went last year for the first time. Room and registration are set for this year. There may be 3000 cars but you can go to several different cruises along the strip and just out of town at any given time. There's the Harley Davidson cruise just out of town, the inlet cruise and the convention center cruise as well as Hooters and so on. Saturday morning is the board walk cruise that ends at the inlet...get ther early as this fills up fast. Last year on Friday night we pulled out lawn chairs and watched the cars go up and down the strip for 4 hours..even ordered a pizza to the corner were we were sitting. The Maryland Chevelle club guys usually have a get together one night and rumor is a TC meet and greet is in the works.
Google it for more info.

So Boardwalk cruise - Where do they Stage for this?

ricks_67
Jan 18th, 08, 8:15 PM
Thats 3,000 registered and another 2,000 that come down for the fun. As Sean said there are cruises and shows all over. the thing is to be registered to know where and when. you can't get into the convention center lot or inlet lot with your car if your not registered.. The only problem I had last year (my first time ) was the traffic down near the inlet. They have a boardwalk parade every morning about 7:00 then you go right into the parking lot. Saturday is reserved for special cars though. Late at night all the traffic lights on coastal highway are set to yellow and it's great to cruise then. definately a good time.

A couple of us are going from this area staying on 33rd street. Not sure if I will be in one of my cars or with My friend in his 1969 Hurst olds. I am helping paint his car right now which is taking away time from getting mine finished. If its calling for one chance of rain I am cancelling for sure. I've spent to many years of that show in the rain to last a life time. What makes me mad is Good Guys show is at Hershey the same weekend. If anyone on here does the organizing for these shows spread them out please :-)

I will be sending my registration in tomorrow morning. Was there last year for my first time and it was amazing. Unfortunately the car had just been put back on the road and I spent most of the weekend working out some bugs, and probably will be doing the same thing since the engine and trans are out AGAIN. Ill be staying with some friends at their house, but let me know if you guys are all going to get together, I will have a bunch of other people with me also.

Feb 29th, 08, 7:14 AM
What are you doing to it Dave???
Well Dan Lets see. It all started when I took the rear out to have it rebuilt. It is getting a new Detriot Trutrac carrier, new Richmond 3.73 gears, new Moser axles and all new bearings. Tom Brush of Brush racing chassis is doing the rear and he called the other day and told me that both axles were bent. 1 was 1/4 inch out and the other is 1/2 inch out. He will be heating straighening and heliarc welding both axle tubes to correct. BTW when he tore it down the original from 1968 4.10 gears were in it and they were done. He told me that one good hole shot and it was going to come apart. Anyway once that is done the rear is getting powder coated and then reassembled. Tha rear is no big deal but since I had the rear out I decided to remove every thing from under the car and sand grind and repaint the entire underside and frame from the lower fire wall back. What a nasty thankless job this has been. Laying on you back getting covered 40 year of grease grime and crud has been miserable:mad: But that part is all done. I hope to be painting next weekend. It is getting all new brakes including master cylinder, booster SS brake lines. New parking brake cables. While I am at it I decided to throw on a set of headers. New rear suspension. All misc parts under along with a bunch of other parts are blasted and repainted prior to assembly. Sooooo once I get the underside painted I have a bunch of S*** to put back together. Then once I get the wheels back on it I plan on replacing the body bushings. Its amazing that the floor pans are in pretty good shape for a 40 year old Baltimore build car that spent its entire life in the MD, PA area. We see how it goes. May 15th will be here before you know it.:beers:

Dave,

WOW - I knew you were doing some rear work :D But not all that - Sounds like it will be very nice when all said and done!! Soooooo, NO excuses not to take a pass down Cecil at the MCC show. :) Sean and I plan on getting there early on Friday and making a few passes. If it makes you feel any better, mine is a part as well. I am in the process of installing my TKO 5 speed. Sean & Co. are getting on me to drive it to Ocean City, I'll probably still trailer though. Anyway, I hope all goes well on the "putting back together" phase and look forward to seeing you at Ocean City. :)

I have not heard yet if the MCC is doing the thing at the track on Saturday??? I might make a pass with the old fairly stock 402. I know DougA will be up for it. He's chompin at the bit to get his LS5 back to the track within the next week or so. I definetly see you guys down at the Ocean! Just hope the Chevelle is done? 5 sp sounds great. What are you doing with the M20. DougA may want to borrow it so he does no break his numbers matching M22! That M20 may help get his 60ft times down.

Guys don't sleep on the registration...I had a few friends last year that got turned away because the organizers decided to only take pre-registred cars after Thursday afternoon. I'm not sure if they are doing it like that this year or not. I think it is an effort to get more people to pre-register.

damn, i got the offer to go last year, and turned it down to work.... i could go this year and take the 69, leaving the 67 1 wheel in the grave, or i could work on it that weekend. And its the first real weekend that i'm home from school... what to do what to do, i'm just really afraid of having the car boosted since they're so easy to get in to and that it would blend in. Plus instead of making money for the 67 it'll go in the gas tank of the 69, it'll be a last minute decision for me, and if i go you can bet i'm sleeping in the back seat

Spider Dan 00WS6TA and I are driving our chevelles down early Thursday morning May 15th. We are planning on meeting up at 4:30ish am in the Lancaster area to head down. We don't want to hit rush hour traffic and we won't be sleeping much the night before anyway :)
If anyone is interested in joining us we would welcome the company and eye candy.
Were are staying on 67th street.

As Sean stated above we are leaving very early Thursday morning May 15th. My first time driving

Johnny, I got your PM, yes this time we need to hook up. I am going to try and plan a TC get together. Does Friday work for everyone? I figure most folks should be there by Friday afternoon. Let me, Sean (PickSS) or Rick (ricks_67) know. I know we have a couple from the PACC coming so we should have quite a few people (Chevelles) getting together. :)

And yes, pray for Sun Sun Sun! :)

Well the Chevelle officially wont be there, clutch alignment problems too close to keep working and still have to break it and the new cam in. Id rather not rush it and break something. I am going to spend these last few days working on my dads 73 Challenger to have it ready for Ocean City. Unfortunately our barn cats got in it over the winter and really made a mess, so Ive been steam cleaning for the past 5 hours. It still needs some work, since whoever had it before him made a mess of the wiring, but atleast I will be cruising. A shame that it will be in a big block mopar though :-)

RAIN X !
First clean your windsheild with simple green. Then with windex. Follow the instructions on the RainX bottle...the water and paper towel final step work better than trying to buff out the cloudiness with a dry cloth step when the RainX dries. I use it on all my cars and the water runs right off :)
