Cary,

Call Sundell Auto Specialties, 704-434-6759 or www.sundellauto.com

Good group of folks and they know Chevelles. I spent days trying to find a hard to find part that was not being repoed. They knew exactly what I was looking for and I had it in two days. The call cost ya nothing. Let me know if it works.

It doesn't really seem like an AD IMO. It's just a fellow Team Chevevelle'r helping another guy out really! Isn't that what this site is all about!

It's no different then someone asking where to get thier frame blasted and someone telling them about a blast shop they have used!

I agree. If I had known of this place when I was putting together the missing ductwork in my 69 I would have saved a couple hundred bucks purchasing bits and pieces off of ebay trying to make a complete set.

Leo,

It was never my intent to advertise; I have absolutely no connection with the recommended vender. Background; after looking for weeks for a heater resistor for an A/C car (no repo) Ground Up, a sponsor of this site sent me in their direction. I was only trying to pass information to another Chevelle person.

Leo, I try to play by the rules and never thought I was out of bounds. Sometimes it is all in the wording; if there was a better way to word it please let me know.

One of the great things about Team Chevelle is its value as a resource, people looking for help can find it here. It would be a shame if folks get gun shy and stop helping others. I think it greatly diminish the value of the site.

But if I’m falling on my sword help me out here.

why can it be considered wrong for Kevin to direct me to a place where I could get a hard to find part that I needed?

I checked all of our sponsors and searched here first, trust me, nobody had anything listed on the defrost duct.

I, for one, have no problem with Kevin's post, matter of fact it saved me from doing the ebay thing BIG TIME! :)

thanks again Kevin!

Your post contains the letters WTB, makes it an ad in my opinion.

WTB = Want to Buy

The WTB in the original post ends with a question mark which to me would mean "where to buy ?"

Yep, Where to buy, not Want to Buy! Not to mention asking Where or saying Want to buy, neither one is an ad. Come on guys, remember what this site is about. Dashboard was NOT posting an ad, just helping a fellow member find a freakin part.

An ad is someone saying "I have 2 golf balls, excellent shape, no dents and scratch free. 25 cents a piece. Call 555-765-4321 if interested".

Not, "Try so and so, they might have it!"

Jeesh.

Sorry I hate to rant a little more but...

OK, whats the difference between what Dashboard posted and someone recommending a goodmark quarter panel? Or recommending Southern Polyurethanes Epoxy Primer over PPG's Epoxy. Or better yet telling someone where to buy it.

I fully understand the no Ad policy, but somewhere the line has to be drawn or no one would ever get any useful vendor information from this site.

Don't get your shorts in a knot. Cut Leo a little slack, here. WTB is commonly used in the Ad forums to let people know that the person starting the thread wants to buy something, not where to find it. Although not in this case, guys seem to regularly thinly disguise what is really a classified ad in one of the regular forums, presumably in hopes of getting access to a broader audience (not everyone here checks the ads every time they log into TC).

Leo was just doing what he thought was right. Let the author know he may have made a mistake. He didn't end the thread or delete it - which he has the ability to do.

Take it easy on him. Being a Mod must be like being the umpire at a Little League game! No win, between the players and parents! Only here you don't get the $35 at the end of the session! LOL!!

I didn't mean to sound like my shorts were in a knot, I appologize if I did. I meant no disrespect to Leo or anyone.

No problem folks :hurray:
Just a misunderstanding, that's all.

MOST everyone knows that WTB means "want to buy" and has forever so it's only natural that made it look like a want ad.

wow!

I guess I'm old or not very "message board" savy then becasue I honestly thought WTB meant "where to buy" not want

I'll edit the title in the thread if that helps?

I mean I did put it as WTB?? (want to buy?? do I want to buy? uh,....yeah I want to...would've bought it already if I could have found it)

anyway, sorry about the post...I'll remember what WTB means now. :)
