UDHarold,

Two questions, when you have the time.

1. The springs that I'm using on my 467 BBC are
Comp 911-16, which have the following specs:
Seat Load 125 @ 1.900"
Oprn Load 300 @ 1.400"
Coil Bind at 1.200"
Rate Lbs 350 lbs.

Engine (467ci) Static compression 9.5
Valves in heads 2.19/1.88
Carb - 780 Holley
Rpm - would like to go to 5800 min or 6500 max.
Chevelle - 4speed - 3:55 gears in rear.

What is the largest Solid lifter Voodoo cam that I could run (what Max lift /per what RPM) with the springs that I have?

2. Any idea when Jegs or others may be carrying
the new Solid lifter Voodoo cams?

Thanks,
Fred.

Fred,

Your springs will allow up to a .650" net valve lift---1.900"-1.250"=.650".

The biggest BBC VooDoo solid is the VooDoo 290--- 290/298 at .015", 257/265 at .050", 170/177 at .200", .632"/.632" gross lift(Net lift about .612"), and 110 LSA. This one would be a little stout for your rear gear....
I'd suggest the VooDoo 276, 276/284 at .015", 243/251 at .050", 156/164 at .200", .590"/.615" gross valve lift, and 110 LSA. This one should beat my old 276/284F10, but be otherwise similar...
I've have both the 276/284 and the 290/298 at Holley since August awaiting dyno tests, etc, etc, etc....
Everything has its' Season.....

Harold,

Thanks for the info, I think I will just sit back and wait for it's release.

Have a great New Years.
