Hi, i have been going back and forth on what heads I should have my friend use on his 383, i at first was going to port a set of trickflows 215CC heads, but after him buhing the heads and paying me it would be too ixpensive. I am thinking about either trickflows or canfields and doing some porting to them. Where can i get decent assembled canfields for cheap? I have heard competition products and herberts both buy the heads assembled and use crappy parts?

Its possible on herbert's and Competition, I know speed-o-motive does it, they buy bare and assemble with other parts thus reducing costs to the consumer. Cool thing is though, at least in my case with E-brock RPM's, P.A.W. price matched speed-o's price but sold me the factory assembled heads graemlins/thumbsup.gif (So it might be worth while seeing if one of the bigger part houses might pricematch with some of the little guys that are cutting costs by assembling themselves)

Jegs' heads are really canfields...and I pretty much trust them. I would try to find a bare set though. If you get a set of assembled heads, its a good idea to have your local machine/speed shop go through them anyways...and they will probably find something not right...or just the price of setting the correct spring hieghts makes the price of assembled heads not worth the chance of inferior parts.
