My 66 SS Chevelle is finally broken in and I have been making some runs out in the country. I have been taking it to about 5200 between shifts and everything feels great except I am getting a belt squeel at just over 5K. Car has a built 454 with a M21 trans and 373 posi and I am running the long waterpump and driving the waterpump and a power steering pump. Any ideas on how to cure this?

It may be a bearing that can't keep up. Alternator, water pump, power steering pump, just have to figure out which one it is and replace.

If you have more than 1/4" of deflection in the middle of the longest run of belt ( does that make sense?)when pushing with your finger, tighten the belt.
