I am restoring a 68 chevelle ss. It has 2;56 gears in the rear end. I am looking to put a 4 speed back in the car, and was wandering on wide or close ratio. Can someone direct me into which one to use? I would appreciate any help on how to tell the difference, and which one to use. Thanks:confused:

Putting in a replacement stock 396, bored .030 over, kb pistons, and everything else is one step up from stock.

I you plan to use lower rear end gears you might consider a 5 speed overdrive.
