Hello...I need a little help deciding which head gasket to use.
In the past I never gave it a lot of thought, but this time more thought is being put into
the selection of parts being used.

This is a 4.030 bore small block. With 64cc alum heads.
I'm trying to keep the compression up.
4 valve relief flat tops. Total volume per piston 9.00 cc
Deck clearance @ TDC 0.015 in.
Calculated deck volume @ TDC 12.14 cc

With so many bore sizes and none the correct size (4.030in.) 4.100, 4.125, 4.135 etc all with different compressed heights. I sure could use a little help..

Victor makes a .026 compressed thick gasket that would be just right. I don't have the part# handy.

I'm using a .021 thick copper gasket on my 383....I think it's a Fel-Pro to keep the compression up as well. Just make sure to get either the spray on, or brush on Permatex copper gasket sealer....I forgot that on my first try and took the top end apart on a Sunday night, put it together on the next Monday night and had it running by Tuesday night. I wasn't very much good at work that week:noway: Oh, I used the brush on, and you have to do it with a bit of haste as I believe it says it only has a 5 minute "tack time". Good luck, you'll need about 3 small cans if you can't get the large ones.

These above numbers are much better than what I have been looking at...To nite when I get more time I will check them out.
