Anybody know of a good way to get 0-60 times? Aside from starting a stop watch when I punch it, I don't know how to get a good time. Pomona drag strips are about 40 minutes way from me, but I don't know anything about amateur racing there. I see some of you talk about Pomona, can anybody run the strip there?

Pomona has almost no events for sportsman racers: but at Super Chevy and The Good Guys events there, they have racing classes that would have you covered.

Really, you'll want to hop on the 10 and head to Irwindale. This is a totally bitchen little track, test n tune most Thursday nights. They also have a number of other events there on a regular basis that should appeal to you.

Have fun, Thomas

Even closer to you is California Dragway (http://www.californiaspeedway.com/) in Fontana. Irwindale (http://www.irwindalespeedway.com/dragstrip/site/dragsched.asp), which I go to regularly, is 1/8 mile but hooks like velcro. Fontana is 1/4 mile but is a bit slippery. Both have events that will work for you.

Actually, I just noticed you want 0-60 times, no 0-60 times on the time slip. You get a 60' time, which tells you how well the car is hooking, and other incremental distance times and speeds. I don't know of any way to calculate 0-60 from a time slip. A G-Tech device will give that. I've never used one, though.

A g-tech or a timeslip..you convert your 1/8 mile ET/MPH to get your 0-60 MPH

That's a pretty neat calculator. I wonder how accurate it is. Still fun to play with. I came up with 3.08 seconds for my car. Thanks!

2.2, 2.4? What are you guys running? A Hennessey Venom 800 Twin Turbo (800 horsepower) does it in 2.3, it's about the same for my GSX-R1000 (for sale if anyone's interested).

How wide are your slicks? What's the weight of your car? How are they set up, engine, tranny, etc.? I'd really like to know, I'm not just trying to disprove you guys. smile.gif

My son's Chevelle shows a 1.71-1.79 on the motor and 1.53 on juice with 10.5 x 29.5 M.T. ET Drags and 4.10 gears @ 3570 lbs of car weight and is quicker than a TT Hennessey Viper down low. Goes 118 in the 1/8 on juice and 112 on motor. However it would be impossible on any street tire.
