anyone know if the oil pump from a 572 p.n. 88963707 will fit my 67 396 the local chev dealer wasn,t sure. just curios for my roller buildup this fall. thanx

I don't know for sure, but my first guess is "NO". The 572 is built off of a Gen 6 Bowtie block. I understood that the Gen 5/6 (non-bowtie) engines used a different oil pump and oil pump drive shaft than the Mark IV. So, I'm guessing, the Gen 6 Bowtie block also uses a different oil pump/driveshaft.

Mark IV oil pump driveshafts and Gen 6 oil pump driveshafts interchange. If you have a gen 6 bigblock, it is a good idea to replace the oil pump driveshaft because the gen 6 oil pump driveshafts utilize a plastic collar.
