Well, I will be getting my Chevelle out in a month or so. Right now it has the peg leg 2.73 still in it until summer. The car has a mild 350 right now. My question is that I have a 700r4 ready to go in the car. I want to put it in the car before I get it out. It will have the stock stall speed but I will not hook the lock-up up on it. Will this be OK. I have 24" tall tires and I figure that until I change rear gears this summer I will run the 700r4 because it has a low first gear.

that might be pushing it...

I have 3.08, tires are 295/50 I think any higher gears might be a problem, most people wouldnt' recommend my combo

But in all fairness, dont new model Z28 and SS have 2.73 stock with their 4l80E?

I think so. My friends new Trans am has 2.73 and the 4l80e with even taller tires then me.

Anybody else know if this is okay?
