I was looking at the original paperwork the other day on my dad's 70 LS5 and the POP is stamped CRV instead of the correct CRQ.the car has all the original drivetrain and build sheet to prove the original LS5 option and was bought new by his best friend at a local dealership and only had the engine removed once which was done by me a few years ago.
I thought this was knid of unique and wandered if anyone else had seen this before?

Hi Van,
Incorrect stampings happened quite a bit on POP's. I had an original drivetrain L78 El Camino that had the wrong engine date stamped on the POP. This is another thought, most LS5 cars came with 3.31 rears that were also coded CRV. Could this be the CRV that you see on your POP?

on the 66 POP I have the engine suffix (like ED) is stamped behind the assembly date. And the rear axel prefix (like KG) is stamped along with the assembly date.

Dale's site, www.chevellestuff.com shows a Baltimore and a Van Nuys built '70 POP with a CRT motor and CRV rear. You could look at the examples on his site & maybe that'll help you.
