oldtimer Dec 29th, 07, 5:51 PM tom, i am in the process of doing the same thing, on mine i unscrewed the outer housing, the one with the teeth, then push out the heating elment or if it is stuck it can stay in the trim, hope this helps.

xoldschlracer66 Dec 29th, 07, 7:43 PM I may be mistaken, but a 66 dash will not work in a 67 due to the fact that the 67 steering column is larger. The opening in the dash is different between the two years, as well as the spacing between the upper light switch and wiper switch.

Your correct about the steering column differences. The trim mounting holes are also different, so swapping some dash parts between the two years will not always work.

jrlars Dec 30th, 07, 12:29 PM Don't some people take the steering column out of a 66 and swap it for a 67 setup because of the issure of saftey and the collapsiable 67 column?
