Is there anything wrong with running an RPM activated switch on a nitrous setup instead of a WOT switch? If not, what should the RPM switch activate at? I've read not to spray before 2500.... is 3000 OK? Also, as part of the kit I got an MSD timing computer that retards the timing. How does 4 degrees retarded sound for a 100 shot? thanks in advance.

Rpm switch is fine....thats how i wired mine in. Is this a track only setup or a street setup too? If its just for the track, i would set the switch for a few hundred rpms high of what you plan to launch at, unless you have to launch at lower rpms for whatever reason, then just set it up for 3000 rpm and in parallel with a throttle swith(which you should have regardless). 4 degrees sounds pretty safe for only a 100 shot. Start with that and if you feel good about it, advance it another 2. Good luck with the setup.

I believe rpm switches are best suited for a 2 stage system and only for the second stage. WOT is what I use because if you spray and are not at WOT you can blow the motor.

I also have a switch that prevents the nitrous from spraying if my fuel pressure is to low. This feature saved my motor once when i had a faulty holley.

I know its not a chevelle, but on my 02 Camaro SS, I have a WOT and RPM window switch.

running just the window switch would be an accident waiting to happen. Arm it, make a run and forget it, then next time you pull out of your parking spot it starts spraying at part throttle

with both you can turn it on in the morning and leave it all day without any trouble.

You where doing OK right up to the point of saying instead of the WOT switch. That switch is very importnt to make sure the NOS is only on when the engine can take it. Add your RPM switch in series with the WOT and Fuel pressure switchs.

I am no expert, but I presumed this would be wired in series, not parallel - so both switches must be engaged to get spray rather than 'either or'. Please let me know if I am wrong (it happens a lot).
