: New Pictures of the GTO Judge I painted
shannon2356 Dec 29th, 07, 12:45 AM Hey Everyone! I know this is not a Chevelle. And I hope I dont piss anyone off by putting it on here. But I just thought I would see what all you guys think of it.
I did all the body and paint on it. I repalced the left quarter panel and had to do some straightening on the rest. The owner is going to finish it up. So here it is.

Hope everyone like it.
And I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

rubadub Dec 29th, 07, 1:58 AM Shannon, you did a really nice job on the gto, I can only hope my car will look that good.
Now here comes some constructive criticism, and I'm aware that you are starting out in a new business, so don't take this the wrong way.
The tail end that looks kind of ragged, I know it will be covered by the bumper, but that doesn't look very professional, it makes me wonder what else might be hidden.
Heres another way to fix that.

Once again, the gto is outstanding, and you should be very proud of it, I sure would be .

2cool Dec 29th, 07, 2:07 AM Looks purdy, wish I had the one I sold for $50 back.
tmcmillan5 Dec 29th, 07, 3:11 AM Wow! Looks like it should be setting in some Pontiac dealers showroom,
Nice Job to say the least.

abodybill Dec 29th, 07, 4:00 AM Nice job on the poncho (all Rise)
rubadub. those pontiac rear body panels look that way from the factory.
64elkynss Dec 29th, 07, 4:28 AM Is that Orbit Orange? Beautiful car, just not my favorite color. Give me a red or black Judge anyday.........64elkynss

keg69ss Dec 29th, 07, 9:03 AM looks good :thumbsup:i always liked those cars.
Andy69 Dec 29th, 07, 10:01 AM I see what Rob said. But then, Rob would have taken 423123.35 years to paint that car :D
I really like the job you did. Nice color too.

BlueSS454 Dec 29th, 07, 11:00 AM That is a sweet looking car  Yet another one I'd like to add to my stable :D Don't worry about posting non Chevelle pics here. I've been posting pics of my Charger since I tore it apart 2 years ago and redid it. I painted it last March and finished reassembling it a couple months ago.....

bdss396 Dec 29th, 07, 11:14 AM Wow! Nice car! Keep the pics coming. Most of us on this site love cars in general, Chevelle's in particular. If I could only hit the Lotto, I'd have a nice stable.
Dave Birdwell Dec 29th, 07, 2:29 PM Here's a link to my friends Judge that I restored in 1996. The color is Orbit Orange, a Judge only color for 1970.
He's driven the wheels off it in the last 10 summers and it could use a freshining up under the hood but the body is still 100% (thanks, DuPont!)

427stingray Dec 29th, 07, 4:10 PM I can't wait to get my GTO painted, but that will be about 10 years from now.
69396ss Dec 29th, 07, 4:14 PM I wish you guys would quit posting Mopar and Goat pictures!!!
It makes me second guess my Chevelle purchase. ;)
That'll be a neat Goat for sure! Good job.
427stingray Dec 29th, 07, 5:19 PM Goats are cool especially with 540's in them.
3 Chiefs Dec 29th, 07, 5:27 PM Hey Rob, I'm not beating a dead horse but I wanted to say that the rear of that car is dead on what it is supposed to look like. In fact the man paid extra attention to the details there that will be covered by a bumper. If you go to the picture where the new after market black quarter panel has been installed you will notice the absence of an eyelet in the rear bumper area of the quarter. The after market panels do not have this small tab of metal with a hole in it. The factory quarters do have this piece. Notice now that the end product, the finished quarter has the piece attached. He went to all the trouble to duplicate a small piece no one will see. The sign of a craftsman. I know this because I have a car like this. Not as done and not as nice either, but I have one. Anyway it does look different than a Chevelle but it is right. I know, you have Chevelle on your brain 24/7 don't you?;)
Take care. Paul

About the hole??? Yes I had to weld it back on. Just what does it do???
I am restoring a 1968 Pontiac Tempest and it as them too. I did not remove the bumper on either on of these cars. And I have no idea what it does if any.
The 70 I don't have to reinstall. But the 68 I am going to sometime. Is it just a factory locating hole?
And to everyone else!
Thanks so much for all the comments.
And to Rob. I forgive you! HAHA!
And yes that is the way it was. As a matter of fact. It has never been messed with. I just scuffed it a repainted it.
And I told him I want some picture of it when it is all finished.
I also want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.
Shannon Anderson
Here it is being loaded up this weekend and going home.

yellow69rsz Dec 30th, 07, 7:26 AM Orbit Orange...Cool!!!
Sedanman Dec 30th, 07, 11:19 AM That car looks great! Orbit Orange is my favorite color on a Judge. Just like the GTO in Two Lane Blacktop.
Freddy Mercado Dec 30th, 07, 12:54 PM Very nice job. Keep it up.
Cameano Dec 30th, 07, 1:21 PM Nice Judge, Shannon. Great work there. While we're admiring pictures of GTO's, here's a recent one of my buddy's '71.

Thats what I have been told. Used only for installation purposes on the line. It has no other function. If its missing thats a good indicator of an after market panel. They also provide a place to put bailing wire if you need to hang them from the ceiling out of your way for about 10 years.:(

shannon2356 Dec 30th, 07, 10:20 PM Thats what I thought Paul.
And thanks again everyone for all the comments. Hope everyone has a great New Year!
