Ken,I sold the chevelle when transmission #5 broke.Could't afford another and the car just plain made me mad.It broke while my wife and 2 year old were driving.Stuck them on the side of the road.Got a good deal on this little 65.Be back breakin parts in no time.

He, He!!

You gave up too early!!

A classmate of mine in highschool that had a '56 Ford H/T went through, I bet a dozen old Ford three speeds and 20 or so old pumpkin rearends before he found both good enough to hold..

He said he could R&R both the tranny and the pumpkin out in like 2 hours each!!!

Like $20 or $25 for each way back in '64/'65 or so...

He's the guy that ran the "steelpack", glasspack style mufflers..

Rob,
Some TRW pistons were made in Canada.
Could they possibly be OEM?
I remember when I worked at Tonawanda and seeing boxes and boxes of TRW pistons with "Made in Canada" written on the side.
Valves, too.

Bill,I guess they could be stock,I dont know much about this motor. It came w/ the car.Should have wrote the number down.

Its pretty low comp. runs on the cheap stuff and gets 12 mpg.

Goes in for paint this week end.By this time next year it should be way fast.Ready to take on you and Ken.

The '70 is home!
It finally returned from the paint shop today. Safely tucked away in the garage awaiting motor, tranny, wiring and interior. Lots of wrenchin' to do.
It WILL be in Nashville in 16 days.

Rob Cool, Rob. Anxious to see it. However, don't expect me to be running these same paltry times next year ;)
