Gentlemen, my 1969 250 inline six runs just fine. However, I get a lot of oil, here, there and everywhere, usually ending up in my driveway or somebody else's driveway. I thas been a source of aggrivation and unpopularity for the last couple years. A friend who is helping me is sure that it is because of a faulty PCV valve. I have tried some others, but not really paid close attention to what engine, or what drawer they came from. Do you recommend a change of PCV from my Chevy dealer? Thanks for any and all consideration. R. B.

The side covers, by the distributor, on the Six are a source of leaks, I just replaced some on mine. The valve cover also. Always use a PCV valve that is for the engine not just a generic one that may fit all. Make sure the oil fill cap filter is clean.

Could be that the PCV went bad you popped a seal/gasket and the leak continues.
Any future PCV does not fix the new leak.
It's time for a good scrubbing, then put some powder onto the engine to help the leaks show thru easier, then back to the bath water:)
