I removed the tall after-market valve covers from my L35 BB hoping to replace them with original style covers and discovered that the rockers were "tall" and the original covers would not fit. What internal engine/head modifications would this suggest.
Thanks

none..
get a 2nd pair of stockers.. and spice them together.. making one stock looking tall valve cover..
just but weld them and wa la..

or go the easy way and get tw ocork gaskets, glue them together with 3m weatherstrip adhesive.. and they(rockers) may clear

Just wanted to 2nd that. Mine do well. I have hardland roller rockers and had to clearance them as well my cheapo valve covers some. So, before you do this, double up one side of the motor and make sure you are happy with it. Just use ball bearing grease as an incident marker under the cover.

If you're talking about full roller lifters and the L35 is otherwise stock, I'd put some stock rockers on it. I doubt that the rollers would make a noticeable difference on a stock L35 and by going back to stock type rockers you won't have to dink with double gaskets and such.
