I'll be off until next Friday and was just wondering who else will be off for awhile for the holidays. It's always a relief just to have a little time for R&R before the new year. Hopefully many of you folks will also get some rest in the next week before returning to work.:beers:

I have 3 days off a year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. No vacation. No sickdays. No personal days. That's what happens when you own a business. :sad:

was off today, working tomorrow, then don't go back until 1/7/08...will be nice to spend some more time with my girls; we are enjoying the new Wii!! i have discovered that my 5 year old is quite the Wii bowler, and already is developing the 'tude to go with the performance! pretty funny, thanks santa.

Nope, I was off Mon 12/24 & Tues 12/25, and back on my oar today... Plus being the "on-call" guy since last Friday @ 17:00 until 17:00 tomorrow.....

Mine are playing the Wii baseball game right now. I haven't tried it yet but it does look like a fun game.

I was off since last friday, back for tomorrow and friday, then off until next wed. Can't imagine being to productive this week or next week though.;)

i had Monday and Tuesday off, but we have to work Saturday to make up for it..

I just get 12/24 12/25 and 1/1 and that is it until Good Friday. When I had the factory jobs I was off for 2 weeks but not in the service industry. Plus I was on call the past week and weekend. Guess I am lucky to have a decent job again.

The days of getting every holiday off, 2 to 5 weeks vacation, a week of sickdays are disappearing in this country real fast in the private economy. Most people are lucky anymore to get 3 or 4 holidays off a year and maybe a week or two of unpaid vacation days.

I work shift work so the holiday stuff varies from year to year for me. The good part is that when I get enough seniority in my company I'll be able to take most of the holidays off even if I'm am scheduled to work. That'll be a few years though since I've only been with my current company for 16 months now.

Nope, our office is "closed" but we are encouraged to work during that time.

I have the world's best schedule, even if I did have to work Christmas. I work seven 12 hour days in a row then I have seven days off. This year I worked 20Dec-26Dec. I would never want to go back to a 40 hour week.

I was off monday and tuesday for christmas then back wed.-fri. then I'm off next monday and tuesday for new years...then we don't close again until july 4th. but I love my job so no complaining here.

I was off last mon/tues, and next tues, but I'm coming in on NYEve day. 8 hours holiday, plus 8 regular pay makes a nice check. Wife works the eve anyway (hospitals don't close you know), so I figure if they're willing to pay me to be here, I'll make some extra cash.
