Hey kids. My name is Kelly, and I am making my intro. I was at my parent's house a few months ago, and I happen to notice something "out behind the barn". It was my car from high school! I graduated in 2001, and left Florida for California, and left my car behind. Six years later, I visit my parents (haven't been back to their place in YEARS!), and to my surprise, six years later, my '71 Skylark is still there, and running!
My dad kept the car for me, and my little nephews would drive it around on their property (they have five acres), and keep it running. Long story short, the car will be rescued from humid, rusty Florida and restored in dry Arizona.

My parents bought that car in 1995 for $300. Had 50K miles. My mom drove the hell out of that car, and spun a bearing in it four years later. I bought a '73 Century and replaced the wheezy 350 two barrel motor for the century's four barrel. This car was my high school hot-rod, and I learned a lot from that car. I moved from Rural Virginia to Florida in 2000, and the car was down there for three weeks, when a heavy seventeen-year old foot, bald tires and an August rain storm made a left hand turn a frame bending nightmare. I totally disassembled the car, and when I was at school my dad (who was retired at this time) jacked the body off the frame for me.

The Chevelle part comes in here (yeah, I know they are both A-bodies...). I bought a frame from a 1969 Chevelle, and Christmas morning, I was doing burnouts before I was unwrapping christmas gifts!

The Skylark is nothing special, just a 350-2 column/bench stratomist blue white vinyl top car. I added buckets, sport mirrors, a big sway bar up front, the GS guage cluster and a tach.

Time has worked out for me right now, I had sold my motorcycle a few months prior to visiting my folks, so I have been using the old lady's car, or skating all over Tempe and Phoenix.

That's my story! If you guys have any 14x7 SS1/Chevelle SS Magnum 500 type you want to part with, let me know! I have wanted those wheels for that car since I bought it from my dad ($300-what a rip off!).

Skylarks are cool especially with a 455. ;)
