Ok, I got from my wife a cd that I was all excited to listen to.

Credence Clearwater Revival Revisted.

It has ever big hit they ever had it seems, 22 songs worth.

So I put the thing in the cd player, crank it up and get ready to rock out.
The first song plays and I am going what did they do to this mix? It sounds strange.
Then the 2nd song comes on and I think what the heck happened to John Fogarty's voice...........

So I pull out the liner notes and open it up, Heck this isn't even CCR, its some freaking cover band.

No where on this thing does it say anything about this not being CCR, the only thing on the front is Credence Clearwater Revival Revistied. Recollection

Talk about truth in advertising, well this ain't it!

If you see it don't buy it, it really pisses me off.

Credence Clearwater Revisted is the bassist and drummer of Credence Clearewater Revival in a new band. The name is different, but so darn close to the same name that is can be mistaken.

This bunch has been profiting off the Fogarty name for a long time. Now that John has settled his legal issues maybe they will go away. Funny when John and his record co. got sideways and he performed solo they sued him for sounding too much like himself. Much like so many greats of this time there is no replacement for a John Fogarty.

Destroy it as it will P*ss you off every time you look at it.

$16 buck for this? Its just wrong.

Of course John Fogarty's upcoming ablum is names "Revival"

Just look at the cover of this thing, the little tag added on the front says 2 cds-22 greatest hits, new versions of several songs.

This is just blatant misadvertising. Tell me how we are supposed to know this is not CCR if we were not aware of this other group? Its done in a way to rip off the cosumer plain and simple/

Years ago I bought a cassette tape (that gives a hint on how long ago it was) with a nice mix of songs record by the original artists. Come to find out the band named themselves the "Original Artists".

Not bad enough that the record companies put out crap any more with "new artists" The contrived BS that they call music today, they also have to trick you into buying stuff through deception.

And they wonder why people are not buying cds like they used to.

This has been out for a couple months. It's not bad; 'ol John still sounds good after all these years.

If you want all the original hits and near-hits pick these up: Chronicle, Vol. 1 and Chronicle, Vol. 2.

I believe you, because I bought it too! I think mine was vinyl, and came from Columbia House Record and Tape Club. The day I got that album was the day I figured out what the world was all about. I think I was 10 at the time...
