Hi Everyone smile.gif
I'm new here. :D
I currently own a '62 C10 swb truck, and i'm working on picking up a Chevelle.
After riding in Craig's 1970 Chevelle, I want one bad!!

Here's my question,
I'm currently rebuilding a stock/mild 350 2 bolt main for the C10 to replace the old worn out inline 6.
I'm going to be running a short tail th350 behind the 350 sbc, but i'm not sure of the stall on the torque converter. I do know it has a shift kit in it, and is a low milaged rebuild.

The 350 is gonna run .20 over flat top pistons, 74cc heads, Edelbrock performer duel plain intake, 3 inch block hugger headers, 650cfm Holley spreadbore carb. The rear end is a limited slip 3:90 ratio 10 bolt eaton.

I'm assuming that the torque converter is most likely stock, and i'm trying to figure out what's the best cam to run with it, and the setup i'm going to be running. smile.gif

What's the best lopey cam at idle with decent power should I use, and from what company would be the best to purchase one from? The only things I need to finish the engine build is a cam, lifters, and a timing chain.
Sorry for the long post. redface.gif
TIA,
David

Hi...for some good truck info check out here http://207.44.196.117/vboard/index.php3?

On the cam deal, if you have a cam that has some rumble to it, its not going to perform in a low compression heavy ride. You will not be happy with the performance. For a stockish rebuild, go with a XE260'ish cam. or a 260H or crane quivilant.

i agree... flattops with 74 cc heads wont have enough compression to run that lopey cam and alot of power.....
