This may belong in Transmission, but it is performance related.I'm going to buy a new trans for my Chevelle. It has a 400 pushing about 320HP.I'm looking at a turbo 400.Any opinions on B&M,TCI, Summit or Jegs? They all offer them around the same price range. I'd buy one local to save the shipping but don't know where to look.I don't have time to have one built.

I run a 400 manual valve body, reverse pattern behind my 454, pushing around 650-675. It is a local tranny here in the tampa bay area. CRT transmissions, they are good and the price is right. I paid around 950 with core for it, I do know the owner so he cut me alittle break. I have broke other trannies, but have not broke this one yet. I am also running a frank lupo torque convertor, anti ballon plated and all that good stuff. CRT will ship to you also. He does not have a web site yet, but will have one when I get ahead on my schedule a bit. If you want I can give you the number if you are interested. All his trannies are dyno tested also.

70isfine, I think you are less than an hour from me. There is a local Tranny shop here in Aston that has a pretty good reputation. They are mostly know for converters but they build some pretty stout trannies too. They're called Transmission Specialties.
The number is 610-485-9110.
I bought one of their TH400s but I have not used it yet. Hope this helps.

With the power level you're at, I suggest using a TH350 instead of the 400. It will take less power to operate leaving more for the tires. A 350 will handle much more power than you are making. I use one behind a 475hp SB that runs very hard. The 350 also weights less. Either way you go, a local builder will make any warranty problems much easier to deal with.

I already have a turbo 400 in the car, so i would like a direct swap,no changing crossmember, converter, driveshaft length ect. I need one soon and most local places will rebuild but i don't have the time or patience to deal with a shop right now. Also mine is cracked bad so i think its trash.Has anyone used the Jegs or Summit transmissions?
