I bought a rear ss 396 emblem for the rear and it is nearly flat. It needs to be curved to fit the contour of the rear panel it is for a 67. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I dont want to bend it and break it. Any suggeations?

Use only GM 1967 chevelle NOS pieces!
Can be pricy ,not always perfect finish, but will fit.
Every emblem,trim,396 flags, moldings etc.. on my '67 were/are nos gm pieces until I opened them up and installed them and they always fit great!
Sounds like you have the wrong emblem. if the vendor won't take it back, put it in the classifieds. I have a set of the 427 emblems from www.trimparts.com and the rear has the correct bend to it. Here is a pic from our sponsor www.ss396.com of the rear emblem. Is yours the same?

Here is another pic from my favorite vendor (www.true-connections.com):

BTW their price is higher but I expect they would price match.

Thanks guys I will talk to the company and have them send me another one just to see, if it does not fit any better then I will send it back and try another vendor. My car is finally in primer now, I have yet until now seen it all one color even if it is primer. Still I am a long way from finishing, but I am very excited.

looking for any information regarding a stencil for locating the SS 396 emblems on the fenders of a 69 chevelle SS. I have been unsuccessful in locating this. If not a stencil if someone has a naked fender waiting for the emblems to be installed and can give me the measurements for the holes i would appreciate it
