Hey All! My 350 in the Chevelle has been leaking some oil from the front of the motor. It blows up on the fenderwell and alternator located on the top passenger side of the motor. I changed valve cover and intake manifold gaskets w/ no luck. It doesn't look like it's coming from the manual fuel pump. I think it might be the front seal on the timing chain cover. I don't think it was changed w/ the motor.
Does this sound right? Now that I'm thinking about it I need to check the balancer for oil. Is there any way to change the seal w/ the motor in the car. I have a one piece oil pan gasket. I recorded a horsepower tv episode when they did a cam swap on an elky. He trimmed the corners from the bottom of the cover but it looked like a two piece gasket. I figured might as well bump the cam up some while I have it all apart. Any suggestion on how to take off and replace the cover and seal?
Thanks,
Mike
