: rules for pinks all out?
lemonice Dec 22nd, 07, 8:13 PM i am trying to find out the rules (FOR PINKS) about rollbars. i know if you bust a 11:50 you have to have a rollbar. but i heard a local rumer that all rollbars have to be (certified).?? any truth to this. where are the pinks rules posted. thanks.
10secBu Dec 22nd, 07, 8:21 PM PINKS All-Out follow all the NHRA track safety rules.
Yes, rollbar required if you run quicker than 11.49. Cage is required at 9.99 and quicker and must be NHRA certified. Roll bars do not require certification.
Get yourself a 2008 NHRA rule book and read the Sportsman and General Regulations chapters.
GRN69CHV Dec 22nd, 07, 9:20 PM That roll bar rule really puts a kink in things. of course it wasn't that long ago the number was a 12.0.
Rowdy Dec 22nd, 07, 9:22 PM I raced at PINKS ALL OUT Vegas and Tucson, made 5 runs (3 on Friday, 2 on Saturday) at each event, all between 10.7 and 11.0, with nary a mention about the absence of a roll bar, shoulder restraints or underwear.
Tech inspection in Tucson was much more NHRAish, teching me to 11.5 and warning me that my front studs were too short for my particular choice of wheels (Weld). Vegas' had sent out packets warning of very scrutinizing tech (because of the "COMPED" registration to all PSCA class winners). However, I'd bet that the peon that punched my dance card couldn't have said whether he had just inspected a Chevelle or the WeinerMobile.
Tell them what they want to hear, then show them what they want to see....ALL OUT
forcd ind Dec 23rd, 07, 7:10 AM if you watch the show, you see a lot of 10 sec cars with no roll bar, so not sure how it works, untill their is a liability issue (crash and burn)

I'm glad I had my SFI rated underwear on the night my car and I took a stroll down the guardrail. You can never be too safe!!! :D
DOUG G Dec 23rd, 07, 9:10 AM Remember the All Out show where the 2 9 sec. cars were "re-tech'd" and the one had no license, cage,or even half the stuff he needed and ended up getting the boot.
If you're going to run at a sanctioned track follow the rules, they're there for you and the guy in the other lane.
killer_bowtie Dec 24th, 07, 8:14 AM If the event is heald at an IHRA track then IHRA rules apply , if at NHRA track NHRA rules apply .....When PAO was at my home track (Milan Dragway) thats what we were told ...
