Does anyone have any experience with the pontiac 23* sbc heads? Was looking at a pair for a 406 I am piecing together.

Thanks, Kevin

Actualy the wagon is listed and has a link at the bottom, so there are 3. In that same link my truck is pictured ( kev's truck ).

Firechicken I'm building a 406 for: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194912

And the convertible is stored in a dry barn out in the country at an undisclosed location :p . http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/data/500/medium/Treo_038.jpg

Are you asking about the old 867 Pontiac / NASCAR head?
It will make power if done correctly, the ports are pretty big for most street stuff & lend themselves to filling on the floors
I have seen them with about a quarter inch of epoxy from the entrance blended to the short turn
I have a set that has no filling with the ports raised a bunch which is the plan for all of them

Pretty good old head, you need a raised runner intake for them
Most have been around for a while so be aware they may need some work
If it is a package with a matching intake for a decent price complete with rockers (they take an offset or shaft setup) they will make power.

BTW, I have a set of Jesel rockers for them as well as the old Crane offset "stud mount" setup for classes that did not allow full shaft rockers for them around here someplace ;)
