I'm not sure. I was just looking at the same problem with my new big block fabricated covers.

That's what keeps me from buying that style fabricated covers. They do however have the style that has the mounting rail that goes outward from the valve covers, and uses short, conventional style bolts, so you can use regular looms.

DAMN! Hindsight is 20/20! Oh well, I'll think of something! There is a threaded hole in between each exhaust port I might be able to utilize?????

If the hole is 1/4-20 or close, check out the late 1990's 5.7 stuff the used in trucks and vans. They had little stands that bolted to those heads (vortecs), then they used wire separator holders that slid onto the ends. They work well, and are pretty basic. They also hold 8mm wires.

I used some of the 2 piece red plastic holders/looms that screw together. I made some little L-brackets from some stuff I found at Home depot. The long valve cover bolts goes through one hole and the bracket hangs over the side of the cover. The looms screw to the bracket. The 4 wire one on the back bolt, 3 wire next and 2 wire next (big block) and it makes the looms vertical to the side of the covers.

im kinda tight for cash roght now, but i just made my looms out of zip ties.

took and wrapped one zip tie, and wrapped around the group of wires i was working with, and then seperated them with other zip ties. it doesn't look tacky at all surprisingly. they all just seem to fall into place.

what he said.. the 88 and newer TBI pickups use a similar setup. there are lots of them in the junkyards, and i can't see them wanting more than about $5 for the brackets. and if you need new plastic wire retainers for them, hit up the Help! section of your local parts store.

I just broke down and bought this set a few hours ago. Now I need to figure out what kind of breathers I want on there, and how I am going to orient them...

i've done that before.. if it's good enough for the top NASCAR teams, it's good enough for me.
the real beauty of doing it with zip ties is that the whole works becomes self supporting and stays wherever you put it, and you don't need to bolt it down anywhere. it works best if you run the wires over the center of each valve cover. if you need to pop the valve cover off, just pop the wires off the plugs and the entire harness just kind of flops out of the way and the wires are in the proper order and fall back into place so it's kind of hard to mix them up when you are done.

there's nothing wrong with that, except maybe the contrasting blue 4 place wire dividers and the way the wires kind of flop out past the valve covers... but that's just an aesthetic thing.
the late model stock setups look killer and are cheap and durable.
zip ties, tho, are the cheapest and most bulletproof way to do it. if you locate the ties so that the locking part is buried down below the wires out of sight, it looks really clean and nothing will ever fall out of place. if you need to replace a wire or something, just cut the ties and grab a few more zip ties out of the tool box when it's time to re-tie it..

i've heard that having the wires tied together can cause the wires to send mixed signals to the msd box and cause misfiring, thats why i dont use zip ties

Maybe with el cheapo wires or old dry rotted ones. But with any good aftermarket wires I wouldn't be worried.

check out pics of the engines if the top NASCAR teams. they run MSD ignitions, and don't worry about misfiring from the zip ties holding the plug wires in place.

"Made for you" has some real nice wire looms. summit handles them. there listed in the catalouge but no picture. i use them on my BB. they can be had for either rail mount or center bolt covers. they may have a picture on the web site. Dave

Why not build your own wires and run 'em under the headers? It sure makes for a clean look with the wires out of the way and lets you show off those sheet metal vc's.

I've never had problems with this routing. They aren't hitting the headers anywhere and i've ran it for about 500 miles like this so far. So far,so good.

Does any one know if those fabricated valve covers they sell on ebay will fit a 69 big block Chevelle/Camino and clear the brake booster? And witch ones to you like better the ones that take the long bolts that go all the way through the cover or the ones that take short bolts like the factory did it?

Come spring, I'm gonna see if these will fit on the 88-newer style posts I showed, or if I can adapt them:
