Spent some time Friday afternoon to go see a couple of car buddies before Christmas.
One of them is my body/paint man. The latest project brought in is a 72 Cutlass convertible. The owner is putting a bored 455 in it and will put all the W30 stripes and hood on it. Definitely will be a screamer.
Another friend is working on a 66 Fairlane hardtop. He got the body earlier this year. He found all the stuff necessary to put a Hi-Po 390 and a four speed in it. He wants a Hot Rod to go along with all his 50's stock classics.
We go over to another guy who works on Mopars. He's just finishing up a 70 'cuda hardtop done in triple Black. It was originally a 340 four speed with a shaker hood. One of those new aluminum block hemis has just been finished at the machine shop and will be going in shortly. This car is for a customer who has all kinds of Mopar musclecars.
The same Mopar guy is also working on a 68 Barracuda fastback for a customer. The owner has not decided what engine will be dropped in it yet.
This same Mopar guy will be working on a car for himself as well. It's a 69 Dodge Coronet R/T which was originally a 440. He will be putting in another modern Hemi (not an aluminum block) hooked to an automatic with all kinds of modern suspension and conveniences.
However, all these are nothing compared to the last stop. This guy has total imagination. He's putting a 67 Mustang convertible body on a 1998 (?) Lincoln Chassis. The car will have all the Lincoln's conveniences like A/C and suspension. The Lincoln engine, computer and electronics will also be used. Mustang body will be decked out to look like a Shelby.
Interesting afternoon to say the least :)
