Hi all,

Hope this is the correct place to post this????

Looking for a Head unit for the wifes 67' EL Camino
I do not keep up with audio stuff so I need help here.
To get to the chase what are the good 1 din decks these days?

Parameters / features I would like:
-1 Din
-good clean power from deck
-Parametric and or Graphic EQ
-MP3, possibly USB or card reader
-Ipod capable

Points of interest.
-The speakers in the El Camino have very poor placement.
NONE of them point at your head. So EQ will be important.

-The car is loud.
3" dual pipes and a big motor the deck will have to push past alot of motor sound

Speaker setup:
FRONT
2x 1" tweeters mounted at the top corners of the windshield 10Khz cap hi pass
2x 2" large dia huge magnet silk tweeters on the dash reflecting off the windshield 5K cap hi pass
2x 4.5" speakers in the AC vents cap hi pass at 200hz
2x 6.5 two ways under the dash aiming at the floor boards full range
All wired to be close to 4 ohms

REAR
2x 3way indoor / outdoor speakers mounted behind the head rests
1x Bazooka 10" 200watt sub BTA 10200 behind the passenger seat
All wired close to 4 ohms

Is the now older Eclipse CD7000 any good?
I was looking at that last year.

Check out the Pioneer premier series. I just put the DEH-P4901B in the wife's Pathfinder. Has a remote, CD player is MP3 compatable and it comes with the IPod adapter. Great unit for the money. Since it has a simple, non-flashy faceplate it would look good in an older car. I am putting one in my '66.

i'm a fan of JVC car stereos, myself.
they are cheap and they work. get one for about $150 and it will look good in your car and do everything you want.
