Any tips on painting over undercoating that has been cleaned. I'm planning on using flat black on the floor pans and POR-15 with Chassis Black top coat on the frame. I've spent about 30 hours cleaning and scraping 38 years of dirt off and don't want to botch the job now!

I used POR-15 on the frame rails, transmission crossmember, as well as the rear end housing and axle tubes on one of the cars I had, and the stuff held up much better than the Chassis black paint did, despite the fact that the car was kept outside during the winter in the rain, sleet, and snow. So I highly recommend using POR-15 paint everywhere as long as you at least cleared off all the loose stuff underneath. I used the POR-15 with a brush and it was fine. Expensive stuff, but IMO it's the next best thing to powder coating (which I believe is even more expensive).

I'm using Rustoleum Rust Converter, Rustoluem Primer, then a couple coats of semi gloss black, using a wire wheel and wire brush to clean everything up......I'm not using POR 15 becuase later on down the road I plan on pullin the body off the frame, sandblasting then either doing POR or maybe powdercoat if money allow...i cant do the frame off right now due to space constraints....

I'm currently using Rustoleum gloss black.

I was going to go with a more expensive paint, but my prep consisted of a powerwash, and it's impossible to get all the junk off. I did not have a rust problem, and I'm sure this paint will outlast me.

Sounds good. In case you don't already know, sometimes that POR-15 can take up to a few days to competely dry and harden. ;) But IMO it's worth the wait.
