I need to upgrade my fuel line from a stock 3/8 to 1/2 now that im putting the 454 in. Been reading and it looks like you need to lift the body off the frame to install it in the stock position. Has anyone ran the lines a different way without lifting the body?

Impossible to put it in as one piece without lifting the body. You only need to lift the body a few inches, not a big deal. Or cut the line and put it in as 2 or 3 sections with fittings as I remember seeing how other members have done it here (just search fuel line and you'll get more info). I lifted my body and put in a one piece stainless line from Right Stuff, worth the extra effort to do it right once.

Like Jay said, worth the little extra effort to do it right once.

I upgraded to 1/2 as well. I ran it along inside frame rail using those c-clamp type hangers that are rubber insulated. I used the spring type tubing bender and was really happy with the result. Not exactly stock, but I didn't pull the body off the frame either. Not saying it's right or best way, just the way I did it.
